Fisk wins first PGA tournament

Twenty-eight-year-old rookie Steven Fisk won his first PGA golf tournament this past weekend at the Sanderson Farms Golf Championship. The former Georgia Southern golfer shot a -24 under par to win the tournament. The win also allows him a two-year exemption through 2027 on the tour. Fisk also claimed over one million dollars in purse money.

Winona, J.Z. George compete at Kirk Invitational

The Winona High School and J.Z. George High School cross-country teams competed in the Kirk Academy Invitational on Sept. 29 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada.

CA’s softball season ends at regionals

Carroll Academy’s fastpitch softball season came to an end at the North 2A Regional Tournament, which was held recently at Canton Academy.
Carroll (3-20) lost 9-1 to Benton Academy and 10-4 to Newton Academy in its two games.
