Lady Rebels season ends at state tournament

Carroll Academy’s softball season came to an end at the Class 3A state tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Rebels went two and out as they fell to defending champion Clinton Christian 13-0 and then lost to North Delta 14-1 in the elimination game.
Carroll finishes the season with an 11-13 record.

Tigers caged by the Jaguars

Winona football coach Joey Tompkins knew what he was getting into when he agreed to play Class 6A Madison Central earlier this season.
The Jaguars flexed their muscles as they took a 31-14 win over the Tigers on Friday night.
It was the first loss of the season for the Tigers, who fell to 4-1 overall.

Jaguars ‘fought and never gave up’ in loss

J.Z. George took one on the chin in its last outing as Walnut High School claimed a 55-28 win last Friday night in Walnut.
The Jaguars could not stop the potent Wildcat offense, as Walnut built a 28-8 lead by halftime and led 42-20 by the end of the third period.
