Jaguars knock off district foe Leland

J.Z. George’s football team picked up the pieces after a sluggish first half against visiting Leland High School last Friday night at Farris Jenkins Field.
The Jaguars trailed the Cubs 16-14 at the half but scored the next 28 points in the second half to knock off Leland 42-16 in a Region 4-2A contest in North Carrollton.

The Carroll defense responded with four interceptions as they ran away with a 40-7 homecoming win over the Raiders on Friday night.

Tiger runners to compete in meet Saturday

The Winona High School cross-country girls and boys teams will participate in their fourth meet of the season as they head to Clinton take part in the MC/Watson Ford Invitational Saturday.
The Lady Tigers and Tigers are coached by veteran coach Chris McRae, who also handles the track teams at WHS.
