Stars outshine Oak Hill 40-28 in second win

The Winona Christian Stars won their second straight game last week.
The Stars overcame an early 14-0 deficit and pulled away late to take a 40-28 win over Oak Hill on Friday night.
Winona Christian improves to 2-1 on the season and will host Benton Academy this week.

Tigers claw 20-7 victory from Kosy Whippets

Winona High School didn’t play its best against Class 4A Kosciusko High School last Friday night but managed to pull out a 20-7 win over the Whippets in Winona.
The Tigers (2-0) outgained Kosciusko 314-238 in total yardage, rushing for 207 yards and passing for 107. The Whippets had 107 rushing and 131 passing.

Lady Rebels pick up two wins despite weather

Carroll grabbed a pair of wins as they beat Winston 10-5 on Monday and St. Joseph 16-1 on Aug. 31.

Tigers beat Choctaw County at Starkville

Winona High School head coach Joey Tompkins wasn’t kidding when he said he knew what he had at quarterback this season in Chase Richardson.
The 5-foot-10 junior had 406 yards of total offense in leading the Tigers to a 40-29 win over Choctaw County High School last Friday night at Starkville High School’s field.
