Winona Christian Lady Stars win two out of three

The Winona Christian Lady Stars got in three games last week and came away with two wins.

The Lady Stars took a big district win over North Delta, winning 11-1 on Monday. After a 12-4 loss to Pillow on Tuesday, the Lady Stars beat Indianola 11-0 on Thursday to finish the season.

Lady Stars rebound with wins after close losses

The Winona Christian Lady Stars had a busy week on the softball fields last week.

The Lady Stars split four games as the lost tight games to Madison-Ridgeland Academy 5-4 and Magnolia Heights 12-7. The Lady Stars then bounced back to pound out a 19-12 win over Indianola and finish the week with a 15-7 win over Hebron Christian.

Lady Rebels endure winless week

The Carroll Academy Lady Rebels got in three games last week but didn’t manage to get a win.

The Lady Rebels lost 15-8 to Starkville on Monday, 16-6 to Jackson Academy on Tuesday and 10-0 to Washington on Thursday.

Volleyball teams kick off 2024 season

Winona High School opened its 2024 girls volleyball season Monday with a 3-2 setback to Noxapater High School.

Winona claimed a 25-17 win in the first set, but Noxapater took the second and third sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-22. Winona won the fourth set 25-19, and Noxapater won the fifth set 15-13.
