Two men have been charged with felony drug charges by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
Terrence Ward, 54, of Lexington was arrested on February 27, at an intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 430 in Carroll County. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sale.
“Ward was arrested during a drug investigation where over two pounds of marijuana was seized,” Sheriff Clint Walker said. “Deputies located the two pounds of marijuana in Ward’s 2013 Mercedes.”
Ward was transported to Carroll-Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility in Vaiden. An initial hearing was held in Carroll County Justice Court Friday, and Judge Tinesha Erve-Earnest set bond at $10,000.
In a separate incident, Ramon Smith, 24, of Greenwood was arrested and charged with giving false identifying information. He was also wanted on a warrant from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
According to Walker, Smith was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 430 near the Leflore County line.
“During a search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately $2,000 in cash and synthetic marijuana,” Walker said. “Drug charges will be fined pending crime lab results.”
