The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the burglaries of four churches in the area.
According to Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker, Shiloh Baptist Church on County Road 87 in Carroll County, Summerfield Missionary Church located on Highway 35 just north of Vaiden, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 35 north of Vaiden, and Calvary Baptist Church on County Road 94 in Duck Hill were burglarized sometime last week.
“[The burglaries] were reported this weekend,” Walker said. “One of them didn’t discover the burglary until Sunday morning. They probably occurred Thursday or Friday [February 27 or 28].”
Walker said audio equipment were stolen from the three churches near County, and although the doors were kicked in at Calvary Baptist in Duck Hill, nothing appears to have been stolen.
“There was no other damage done other than the door,” Walker said.
On Wednesday morning, Walker said his department had two suspects in custody on charges, and they are considered persons of interest in the church burglaries.
