Police are waiting for autopsy results in the investigation of a shooting death in Winona last month.
According to Captain Dan Herod, chief investigator for the Winona Police Department, officers responded to the reports of a gunshot wound in the early morning hours of May 11, 2019, at a home on Hampton Street. When they arrived, they found an adult male shot, and he was transported by ambulance to Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital.
The man, whose identity Herod would not release, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
“The Winona Police Department is not releasing any information at this time,” Herod said. “Our main concern is the family of the deceased.”
Herod said any information that is gathered during the investigation will be delivered to the family of the victim by the Winona Police Department.
