Hippty Hoppity Easter is on its way!
Area churches and community organizations are gearing up for Easter events beginning Thursday, April 18 through Sunday, April 21.
On Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m., Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona will have a special Maundy/Holy Thursday Service, and at 6:30 p.m. Carrollton United Methodist Church will also hold its Maundy Thursday service.
On Friday, April 19, the Winona Baptist Church will have a prayer service followed by a cookout and an Easter Egg Hunt.
Also on Good Friday, Haven United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 6 p.m., and there will be Good Friday service is planned at 6:30 p.m. at North Carrollton United Methodist Church.
On Saturday, April 20, beginning at 9 a.m., Moore Memorial United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt, which includes breakfast, crafts, face painting and more for the kids. The community is invited.
Also on Saturday, Blessings for all Empowered by Faith will have a fashion and talent show at the Winona Community House. Admission is $3 and entry fee $10. Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners and participation certificates will be given.
On Sunday, April 21, Blessings for All Empowered by Faith, New Millennium Men’s Club and Queens of Millennium Women will have its annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. behind the former Duck Hill Elementary School in Duck Hill. There will be over 2,500 hard and stuffed eggs hidden in a big hunt. There will be bouncers, face painting, food, games, music, and a special guest appearance.
Easter events kicked off last Saturday in Vaiden. The 4H Clever Clovers of Vaiden and other community organizers held their Community Egg Hunt in the Vaiden High School Gym. Many came out in attendance for food, fun, and games. There was also a one-mile fun run and health fair held by the Vaiden Mayoral Health Council the same day.
Sunday, the Junior Auxiliary of Winona held their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Winona Recreational Park.
