Residents in Carroll County will see no mileage increase for the upcoming 2020 fiscal year.
The Carroll County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing and a special called meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. in Carrollton. During the meeting, the board approved its 2020 budget.
The board’s total budget will be $17,715,982 and approved its millage rate at 105.21 with 30.48 mills going to the Carroll County School District.
Also, the board:
• Approved a refund to Jackie McKinney on a tax sale on the property owned by Stanley L. Fountain Jr.
• Chancery Clerk Sugar Mullins said it was discovered by Tax Assessor Wilton Neal that the home that was on the property burned. Neal asked the board to refund the payment and to re-advertise the property at a new assessed value.
• Approved a $200 ad for the Winona Times/The Carrollton Pilgrimage Guide.
• Approved payments for J.J. Ferguson and Willis Engineer for County Road 143 in Beat 4 and Barnes Avenue projects.
Approved a postage by phone payment for the tax assessors office.
