Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect in the burglary of 4-D gas station last week in Stewart.
Sheriff Jeff Tompkins said the suspect is accused of taking 18 cartons of cigarettes and a drop box for the Stewart Water Department.
“We don’t know how much was inside the drop box for the Water Department,” said Tompkins.
The assailant entered the building around 2 a.m. on Aug. 28, Tompkins said.
“They pulled a meter base, cut the wires inside it and cut the phone lines,” said Tompkins. “Then they busted in the front door and walked in.”
While there were no witnesses to the break-in, Tompkins said the business did have video footage of the suspect.
“They wore dark pants, a dark hoodie, black shoes, black gloves and something white over their face,” Tompkins said.
