Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson invites everyone to attend the 57th annual Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo and announces the schedule of events taking place
today, Friday, February 4, through Sunday, February 6, 2022. All events take place on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds.
One event taking place on Saturday and Sunday that the public will not want to miss is the Paint Horse Show, which starts at 8:00 a.m. each day in the Equine Center. Over 180 competitors from over 15 states across the nation will compete in this event. The Paint Horse Show features reigning, halter, western pleasure and other competitions between horses registered with the American Paint Horse Association. Those wishing to participate in the Paint Horse Show can enter the day of competitions. Pre-registration is not required. This event is free to the public.
The all-new Dixie National Corral includes the famous Penn’s fried food, fresh blueberry pastries from J&D Farms in Poplarville, tacos, corned beef and fresh squeezed lemonade, as well as leather and tack vendors available to shop. The Corral is open each day for breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. starting today, February 2, and running through Saturday, February 19. In addition, the Dixie National Steakhouse will be open for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. daily the Trade Mart.

Events of the 57th Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo run through Sunday, February 20, 2022. The Dixie National Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River, takes place Friday, February 11, through Sunday, February 13, and again Wednesday, February 16, through Saturday, February 19, inside the Mississippi Coliseum at the State Fairgrounds.
