Tigers take blowout wins against Ruleville

The Winona Tigers won a pair of baseball games with football like scores last week.

The Tigers beat Ruleville Central 25-0 and 34-3 last week in a division doubleheader. 

Winona is scheduled to host Humphreys County on Tuesday and Vardamn on Thursday.

Winona 34, Ruleville Central 3

The Tigers scored 14 runs in the first inning and took a 31-run win over Ruleville on Tuesday.

Ruleville scored three runs in the top of the first while Winona scored 14 in the bottom of the frame. The Tigers added 20 runs in the bottom of the second to take the win.

Winona had 10 hits and drew 25 walks in the contest. J.J. Burt was 3-for-3 with a double, four runs scored, two walks and eight RBIs. Griffin Faulkner was 2-for-2 with two walks and six RBIs. Kamron Wadlington tripled, walked three times and scored four runs. Ja’Mes Alexander walked four times, scored four runs and drove in two runs while Zach Jefcoat singled, walked three times, scored four runs and had two RBIs. Connor Helmes singled, walked three times and scored four runs while Jacob Myers singled, walked three times and scored three runs. Aubrey Bailey singled walked twice and had four RBIs. Clayton Sheffield walked twice, scored two runs and had two RBIs. 

Aubrey Bailey pitched two innings and gave up three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three. Myers pitched the last inning and didn’t give up a hit or a run.

Winona 25, Ruleville Central 0

The Tigers scored all of their runs in the first inning and took a shutout win without allowing a hit in the first game of the doubleheader on Tuesday.

Winona had 20 hits in the contest as Javaris Hemphill was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Ashton Hurst was 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs. Danarius Robinson was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three runs scored and four RBIs. Dalton Ferguson was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs while Kamron Waldlington was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Connor Helms was 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Aiden Eldridge was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. J.J. Burt scored three runs while Jacob Myers singled, scored three runs and had two RBIs. 

Dalton Ferguson started and pitched one inning, getting three outs on 12 pitched while striking out three. Griffin Faulkner pitched the last two innings and walked four while striking out four.
