The Carroll Academy Rebels repeated as district champions, but it wasn’t easy.
The Rebels survived a scare in the semifinals as they beat Central Holmes 56-54 on Thursday and then took a hard-fought 51-42 win over homestanding Oak Hill on Saturday to win the District 2-3A Tournament title.

Tigers undefeated in district

The Winona Tigers finished off their clean sweep of Division 3-3A play with a pair of wins to finish out the regular season.
The Tigers took two double-digit wins last week as they beat Ruleville Central 53-37 and Amanda Elzy 70-50.

Both Winona Christian teams finished third in the District 2-3A Tournament this past week.
The Lady Stars lost their semifinal contest to Oak Hill 31-26 but bounced back to beat Indianola 43-27 on Saturday.

The Winona boys soccer team recently finished its season with a first-round playoff loss.
The Tigers were the Division 3-3A regular season champions by virtue of two wins over Riverside. The Tigers finished the season with a 2-7 record and had multiple games cancelled because of COVID-19.
