Sandra Kay Brunson Taylor, 76, passed away Dec. 30, 2018.
A memorial service was held at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. and Rev. Lanny Haley officiated.
She was born to Joe Russell and Catherine Elizabeth Brunson, Jr. on Feb. 20, 1942, She lived most of her life in the Avalon Community and She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and Sandra was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Delta State College.
She taught elementary grades at Pillow Academy, Davis and W.C. Williams Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirley Jean (Sam) Moore, of Meridian.
She is survived by her son, Erich Franklin (Lori Bowie) Taylor, daughter, Elizabeth Kay Taylor Hunt, granddaughters, Sophie Lauren Taylor, Meagan Elizabeth (Ryan Parker) Dulaney, and Anna Nicole Hunt, as well as nieces and nephews to some of whom she was more of a grandmother than aunt, brother, Joe Russell (Laura Lipe) Brunson III and her sister Mary Catherine (David William) Blakely continue to live in the Avalon Community.
The family sends a special “thank you” to the staff of Country Meadows Personal Care Home and Grace Hospice for the excellent and thoughtful care given to Sandra during her stay there.
Memorials may be sent to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
