Minister Vanessa Lorraine Miller, 49, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Roberts and Son Mortuary in Winona. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Winona.

Vanessa was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. She could spend hours reading her Bible and other books and dreaming. Pure joy radiated from her as she interacted with the children in her care.

She was born December 16, 1970, the daughter of Robert and Lorene Miller. Vanessa was a loving and compassionate person who loved the Lord, her family and loved to be silly. Her personality would fill the room. Vanessa loved preaching and teaching. She loved to sing and had the voice of an angel. She also loved hanging with the family, playing games and telling stories. The relationship she had with her brother, Tracy, was not like any other. Vanessa was a wonderful big sister to Tammy, after she finally stopped trying to get rid of her.

She didn’t have any children of her own, but she loved all of her nephews and nieces and called them her children. She was furiously loyal to her family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who kne    w and loved her.

She also had nicknames for the ones she helped raise (Buddha, Poosa, Gwenna, Relly and Chicken). Vanessa was an educator with degrees in music and education. She would have received her Masters of Education May, 2021. She also earned her B.S. in Theology from Exodus School of the Bible. Most of all she was a child of God and loved the Lord.

Her most sort after accomplishment was when she was ordained to the work of The Gospel Ministry, on February 2, 2020. She was a perpetual student of the Bible.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Sell and Mary Miller and O.D. and Ida Mae McNeal.

She is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Lorene Miller, brother, Tracy Miller, sister, Tammy Saffold, nephews, Shannon (Jasmine) Miller, Jerell and Jeremy Saffold, Lydell Miller, nieces, Augusta Bibbs, Lorraine (Jonathan) Cooley, Nikki (Dale) Eccleston, Gabrielle and Gwendolyn Saffold, numerous aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jerell Saffold, Jeremy Saffold, Patrick Anderson, James Blakes, Atavis Campbell, Sr., and  Cliffton Groves
