James Ralph Pace, 80, of Winona passed away on September 23, 2020, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.
The family will have a private graveside service at Huntsville Church of Christ Cemetery near Kilmichael, with Mr. Brad Gray officiating.
Mr. Pace was born on January 7, 1940, to John Shelby and Lena Jenkins Pace in Kosciusko, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Winona High School and Holmes Junior college and was a retired rural mail carrier. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion and the DAV.
Mr. Pace was a member of the Winona Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 23 years, from 1997 until 2020. He loved serving God. Mr. Pace was an avid sports fan and loved playing, watching, coaching, umpiring, and refereeing. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting.
Mr. Pace is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Pace of Winona; two sons and daughters-in-love, James Ralph "Jimmy" Pace Jr. and Phyllis Pace of Tupelo and Johnny Pace and Leigh Pace of Batesville; one precious grandson, Lofton Pace of Batesville; one brother, Larry Pace (Gwen) of Marietta, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Evon Collins (Jackie) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sissie Suber of French Camp, and Joanne Pace of Kilmichael; three brothers-in-law, Bill Vaughan of Greenwood, Guy Stanford (Judy) of Winona and Brent Stanford (Priscilla) of Coffeeville; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Shelby and Lena Pace; his sister, Helen Ruth Ward; and two brothers, John Shelby Pace Jr. and Edmond Pace.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Ansley, Mark Ward, Mike Ward, David Pace, Tim Collins, Danny Collins, William Vaughan, Kevin Pace, Ryan Pace, and Guy Stanford Jr..
Honorary pallbearer will be Lofton Pace.
