Gregory R.C. Rainey, 58, of Duck Hill died at his son's home in Duck Hill on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Oliver Funeral Home and service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel and burial following in the Rainey Family Cemetery in Duck Hill. Rev. Tim Buchanan officiated the services.
Mr. Rainey was born to R.C. and Betty Pannell Rainey in Ripley on Sept. 21, 1960, He was a self-employed mail contractor with the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Rainey was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Eskridge Baptist Church near Duck Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Bentley Rainey and Aubrey Rainey.
Mr. Rainey is survived by his daughter, Krystina Chu (Aaron) of Van Cleave; two sons, Matthew Rainey (Vanessa) of Duck Hill and Andrew Rainey (Michelle) of Duck Hill; three sisters, Deborah Tartt of Grenada, Tammie Taylor and Bridget Williams both of Duck Hill; brother, Ronnie Rainey of Duck Hill; four grandchildren, Maddox Rainey, Berkley Chu, McKinley Rainey, and Jordy Chu; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jerry Lucius, Archie Flowers, Alvin Brown, and Irby Bailey Jr.
