Mrs. Elizabeth Bennett of Winona, 92, died at her home on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Oliver Funeral Home were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Jerry McNeer officiated the services.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Greenwood on Sept. 26, 1926, to James Henry and Ada Mabelle Woods Barrentine.
She was a retired seamstress and supervisor for McGregor Manufacturing in Winona. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael, the Order of the Eastern Star, Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Winona Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil V. Bennett; and one son, James E. Barrentine.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters, Louise Mott of Pearl and Kathy Stoker of Winona; sons, Ralph Barrentine of Carrollton and Johnny Barrentine of Greenwood; sisters, Louise Mitchell of Gulfport and Addie Hurst of Greenwood; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jessie Dunn, David Heath, John Johnson, Jeff Rodgers, Walter Alford, Daniel Collins, and Dale Goss. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Jones, Raymond Card, Bubba Nix, Buddy Shackael, Clark Rogers, Jimmy Costilow, and Joel Collins.
