Charles Edward "Charlie" Upchurch
Charles Edward "Charlie" Upchurch of Winona 94, passed away at his daughter's home in Ocean Springs on Thursday, December 6.
Visitation was Saturday, December 8, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home and services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Mr. David Ingram officiated the services.
Mr. Upchurch, He was born in Doddsville on December 20, 1923, and was the son of the late Charlie William and Lena Mae Myers Upchurch. He was a retired mechanic for Winona Tractor and a Baptist.
Mr. Upchurch served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Winona VFW, where he served as post commander for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reginald Hodges Upchurch; daughter, Diane Reeves, granddaughter, Linda Reeves Jordan; two sisters; and four brothers.
Mr. Upchurch is survived by his daughter, Jean Sims of Ocean Springs, five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
