Carolyn Fondren Mitchell
Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Fondren Mitchell of Gore Springs, and formerly of Stewart and Winona, were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Winona Garden of Memory. Rev. Ben Hill, Rev. Randy Bridges, and Rev. Rupert Ingram officiated the services. Pallbearers were Ben Hill, Randy May, Jason Kilgore, Justin Kilgore, Paul Pickens, and John Paul Pickens.
Visitation was Sunday, July 1, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell, 77, died at her home on Thursday, June 28. She was born in Oklahoma on August 11, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Dorothy Durkee Fondren. She was a retired bookkeeper and a tremendous supporter of our military service men and women.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don Mitchell of Gore Springs; son, Jeffrey A. Mitchell (Tami) of Gore Springs; sisters, Margaret Moore of Winona and Jean Kilgore of Stewart; brother, Charles Fondren of Stewart; and a host of nieces and nephews.
