Lady Stars take dramatic win over Lee

The Winona Christian Lady Stars opened the Class AAA North State Tournament with a thrilling 50-48 win over Clarksdale Lee last week to secure a spot in this week’s Class AAA Tournament.

Body found in canal in Stewart

Two local fishermen discovered a body in a canal off the Big Black River in the Stewart area.

According to Montgomery County Sheriff Jeff Tompkins, the body of Jimmy Threadgill, 53, was found floating in the water the afternoon of January 29, 2020.  Montgomery County Coroner Allan Pratt pronounced Threadgill dead at the scene.

A story about George

As part of a lesson on illustrators, Dee Hazelwood’s third grade students from Winona Christian School wrote a story about George ,the dog of Eupora, a quite famous dog around his hometown that even has his own Facebook page, Where’s George?

Dennis Warren Musgrove

Dennis Warren Musgrove, 57, died on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born on May 26, 1962 in Vaiden, to the late Jack and Evelyn Barrett Musgrove. Dennis was of the Baptist faith and was a carpenter.
