Mary Gladys Potts Carpenter

Mary Gladys Potts Carpenter, 91, 0f Carrollton died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.

Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Enon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County.  Rev. Keith Ramage officiated the services. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 Mrs. Carpenter was born to William Everett Potts and Ree Etta Gilliam on June 25, 1927. She was a member of Enon United Methodist Church. She worked for over 30 years at Sears & Roebuck in Memphis before her retirement. She loved doing volunteer work for the needy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jiles Thomas Carpenter and her daughter, Sharon Carpenter Carter.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her daughter, Janet Carpenter Potts of Carrollton, MS, and sister, Redean Taylor of Orlando, FL, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
