A woman may face more charges after a child was severely injured from being attacked by a dog she allowed to run at large.
The case of Brandy Doster, who was not present in court on Oct. 27, was heard for violating Winona’s ordinance about allowing a dog to roam free. However, after reviewing details of the case, city prosecutor Putt Crull Jr. asked for the case to be continued to see if enhancements could be added against Doster.
After reading the report, Crull said in court he wanted to see about adding enhancements because a young child was severely hurt. The report stated that Doster’s dog, a husky, mauled a young child.
“I don’t want her to just get fined $100. I want to see if we can add enhancements,” he said.
Officer Denzil Bigbee said he only charged her with the city ordinance but would see if enhancements could be added.
