The Winona High School tennis team pulled out a 6-1 win over Nettleton High School last Thursday in Winona.
Gunner Wilkes won his boys singles match 6-2, 6-1, and Ben Rosamond and Leo Guzman won in No. 1 boys doubles 6-4, 6-4. In No. 2 boys doubles, TJ Small and Jeffery Butts claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win.
In No. 1 girls doubles, Marlee Wilkes and Eden Leach won their match 7-6 (7-5), 6-3. In No. 2 girls doubles, Joceliene Rodriguez and Sophia Guzman claimed a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10-3 tiebreaker) win. In mixed doubles, A’jerrian Garrett and Ariella Jones won their match 6-4, 6-2.
The lone loss was a 0-6, 0-6 setback for Lillian Jones in girls singles.
Winona (2-3) entertains East Webster Tuesday and hosts Aberdeen High School March 18.
