Dear WES 6th Grade Parents/Families:
EXCITING NEWS FOR YOUR STUDENT.
We are pleased to share an important “NEWS FLASH” regarding our 6th-grade students for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. To provide the best possible learning environment, our 6th-grade classes will be housed at the Winona Secondary School in the designated Junior High area beginning Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
This move offers multiple exciting benefits for our students:
● Increased Opportunities for Growth: The Junior High setting allows our 6th-graders to begin developing the independence, organization, and responsibility that will support a successful transition into middle and high school.
● Access to Enhanced Resources: Being in the Junior High area will ensure students have access to additional facilities and resources that support academic, creative, and social development.
● Smoother Transition to Secondary Education: With guidance and support from both elementary and secondary staff, students will experience aspects of a secondary school environment in a safe, structured, and age-appropriate way.
● Focused Academic and Social Support: The Junior High area will grant more concentrated attention to the unique academic and social aspects of our 6th-grade students as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Please understand that while the location is changing, our commitment to your child’s success and well-being remains stronger than ever. Our 6th-grade teachers and staff will continue to provide a nurturing and structured environment that your child deserves and that you expect, while embracing this unique opportunity for their growth and development.
We appreciate your continued support and partnership. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Tracy Moore
