The town of North Carrollton had a rake up North Carrollton Day for our senior citizens. Volunteers assisted in raking lawns for senior citizens in the community.
“The project was very beneficial to the citizens here. Site locations and trash bags were furnished to the volunteers. The volunteers did a great job and it is appreciated, there were even leaves cleaned out of ditches in front of homes. This community project is very important to a town, and we look forward to continuing these efforts. It is appreciated all who turned out and the help of Beat 2 Carroll County School board member Teresa Vanlandingham with her efforts in helping coordinate the project, “North Carrollton Mayor Ken Strachan said.
There were also volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 4039 which serves the counties of this area including Carroll and Montgomery.
“We will be planning a trash pickup day with Keep Mississippi Beautiful in the spring that the town has done in the past,” Mayor Strachan said.
The project Saturday was sponsored by Simplot Growers Solution. There were 60 leaf bags that were filled during the project Saturday morning.
