Also, Michael Gray of Madison had a charge of trespassing remanded contingent upon he had no other run in with the affiant Herbert Haynes. Mississippi Game and Fish Officer David Holliday said he received a text from Haynes about Gray being on his property.
Holliday said Haynes sent him a photograph of Gray he had taken and said that he had identified Gray. He said he tried to get up with Gray to serve him but could not. He said he had to call Gray and serve him via text.
“He didn’t dispute that it was him, he just said that he did not know,” Holliday said.
Gray said that he leases a thousand acres and has for about three years. He said that he wasn’t aware that he was not supposed to hunt there.
“There’s a shared gate and all the roads look the same,” he said. “There’s no trespassing signs, no posted signs.” Gray said his only fault was that he went down the wrong road.
“I went to the left, when I should’ve went to the right. And I heard it when it [the camera] took my picture.
Bamberg asked Gray if he had any other incidents with the landowner whose property he was on, he said no.
“I’ve never spoken to Haynes,” he said.
