WHS take 2-1 match win

The Winona High School girls’ volleyball team upped its record to 2-7 with a 2-1 match win over Kosciusko High School Saturday at the Winona Invitational.
The Lady Tigers won the first set, 25-16, but the Lady Whippets took the second set, 25-18. Winona won the third set, 15-9.

The Jaguars of J.Z. George opened their 2022 season with a 12-0 win at Alcorn Central High School last Friday night.
While it wasn’t the prettiest of wins, it was a win.

Stars take 35-28 victory from Panthers

Winona Christian football Coach Ken Chandler said before the season that Jake Ware would be a big part of the Stars offense this season.
That was certainly the case on Friday night as Ware had 297 yards of total offense and propelled the Stars to a 35-28 win over French Camp.

Rebels dominate Kirk in 40-0 win on the grid

The Carroll Academy Rebels easily stayed undefeated last week as they rolled past Kirk Academy.
The Rebels scored 34 points in the first quarter and rolled to a 40-0 win on Friday night.
Carroll improves to 2-0 on the season and will host Magnolia Heights on Friday night.
