Jags end district play with 24-7 victory

J.Z. George’s football team closed out the district portion of its schedule with a 24-7 Region 4-2A win over O’Bannon High School last Friday night in North Carrollton.
The Jaguars, 6-2 overall and 3-1 in region, end the regular season Thursday against Eupora High School at 7 p.m. in Eupora.

Stars prepare for Centreville in class 3A play

Winona Christian football coach Ken Chandler said the Stars have had trouble tackling good running backs all season long.
That continued on Friday night as Canton ran roughshod over the Stars and took a 50-14 win in a district contest.
