On Friday, May 3, the Teachers from Carroll County Schools were invited to Larry’s Fish House in Itta Bena to celebrate, fellowship, and enjoy a well-deserved meal at the closing of another school year.
It is during this time that we, the Education Committee, recognize the teacher of the year from each school. The teachers chosen are chosen by their peers and they are presented with a plaque during our evening activities.
This year’s teachers of the year were as follows: Marshall Elementary, Ms. Amanda Mulconrey, J. Z. George, Ms. Marshethe Thomas, Carroll Academy Elementary, Ms. Kim Hathcock, Carroll Academy High, Ms. Brenda Corley. Ms. Nichole Kelly was also recognized for ten years of service at Carroll Academy as well. The teachers retiring from the public school this year are Marshete Thomas, Kathryn Fields, Maxine McBride, and Dr. Judy Henson.
I, Mary Fluker, would like to take this time to say “THANK YOU” to those who gave freely of themselves so that we, the Education Committee, would be able to serve the faculty and staff at all the schools in the county for Christmas and Valentines with happies. Your donation also made it possible for us to provide meals for our teachers during our evening out at Larry’s Fish House.
Thank you so very much.
