Supervisors Honor Two Local Students

The Monday, June 24 Carroll County Board of Supervisors meeting began with a prayer given by Circuit Clerk Durward Stanton. Following this, as the first actions of the newly called meeting, the Board honored Anna Lauren Jones and Kiya Brown with two scholarship awards.

Terranium Building Tutorial

On Monday, June 17, the Winona Library held a Terrarium Building Tutorial for guests who reserved spots in advance. The event was hosted by Amy Ware and Anna Austin of the Montgomery County Extension Office. They instructed guests on how to create their own self sustained terrariums and then guided them through the building process.

Golden Ticket Adventure

On Thursday, June 6, the Kilmichael Library welcomed visitors to join them for a Golden Ticket Adventure. Visitors could pick up their golden ticket at the front desk, then they would be led to the back room which had been converted into a theater, complete with popcorn and drinks for concessions.

Reward for Tips on Cable Vandalism

Delta Electric and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office are offering a cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest in the case of intentional damage to fiber optic cables on Teoc Road (County Road 73). Reportedly, the damage has been sustained over the last four weeks, with the cables having been intentionally shot.
