Carroll County Court hears pleas

On Monday, Circuit Court Judge Alan D. Lancaster heard several pleas at the Carrollton Courthouse.
A woman charged with two counts of drug possession came before the judge to enter a guilty plea in a case brought forward by the Attorney General’s office. Criminal Appeal lawyer Ashely Sulser represented the state.

Man accused of rape gets 50 years

A Carrollton man charged with two counts of sexual battery was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Monday.
Roy Miller, 26, was charged with the rape of two children, an 8-year-old and an 11-year-old. He pleaded guilty to both counts in Carroll County Circuit Court.

Summer Fest set for June 24

Vaiden’s Activities Committee will be hosting Summer Fest on June 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
“We had a festival last year in the spring that was really successful,” said Organizer Gina Tate, but the committee decided to push back this year’s festival to summer.

State officials offer help to repair dam in county
