Kilmichael's fireworks show set for July 4

Kilmichael’s Fourth Annual Fireworks Show will be hosted on July 4 on the town square by Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial’s Matt Bennett.
Bennett said he started the event four years ago. He was inspired by the birth of his daughter, Lillie Claire, because she was born on July 4.

Duck Hill hosts third annual Juneteenth

Duck Hill’s Third Annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held this weekend at Duck Hill Recreational Gym.
The event’s organizer, Yalanda Honorable, came before the Board of Aldermen in a Monday evening meeting to clarify the time she could gain access to the gym and invite the board to the event.

CCSD, $300,000 in interested fund

Carroll County School District now has $300,000 in their District funds from Sixteenth Section interest money, after the board voted to approve the moving of funds in a June 8 meeting.
District Business Manager Bret Reynolds explained that the Principal funds from Sixteenth Section profits go toward paying off previous loans.

Carroll deputies go to the Library

Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker and several Sheriff’s deputies participated in the North Carrollton-Carrollton Library’s summer opening program on June 8.
Sheriff Walker demonstrated how deputies use equipment like ballistic shields and tasers in the line of duty. Bloodhound Nyla was brought for the presentation as well.
