“Raise your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who brings out their multitude by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing.” Isaiah 40:26
How often do you stop and contemplate the power of God? As we live our life each and every day, in the world in which we live.
There are so many ways we see God’s power demonstrated. From the beauty of a sunrise in the Great Smokey Mountains to the beauty of a sunset along the beaches and horizon of the Gulf of Mexico, we see God’s power.
In the fall of the year when the artistry of God is on full display to the spring of the year when plants, trees and flowers come back to life, we see the power of God.
In all that God has created; the workings of the human body, the speed at which a hummingbird flaps his wings, the majesty of a bald eagle in flight, the ability of a seed to grow and produce fruit, we see the power of God.
I love our text verse, Isaiah 40:26, as it reminds me that I can lift my eyes to the heavens and know that every star I see has been brought forth by the power of God.
God has created every star in the heavens, and He calls them by name, not one of them is missing.
And when I look up in the night sky and see all the stars that God has created, counted and named, I am looking at the power of God.
In His dealings with mankind, we see God’s power as He raises up leaders; He takes down leaders. He raises up nations; He takes down nations.
God deals in the hearts and lives of every human being to draw them to a saving knowledge of Him, and when a person trusts Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior, God washes their sin away and makes them a new creation.
That is the power of God. I pray that each and every day you will stop and take the time to contemplate the power of God as He works all around you and seeks to work in you.
