Montgomery County Justice Court held sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to being off for three weeks.
On Tuesday, a Stewart man was bound over to the action of the Montgomery County Grand Jury after a charge that began as a misdemeanor was upgraded to a felony.
Elias Flores went before Judge Larry Bamberg in Montgomery County Justice Court on two counts of touching a vulnerable adult over the age of 65 for lustful purposes and breaking and entering. Flores is accused of breaking into the home of a Stewart woman and touching her sometime during the latter part of May.
Because it was amended from simple assault, Flores had his initial appearance and preliminary hearing both on Tuesday. Represented by Reed Stanford, Flores chose to waive his preliminary hearing. Bamberg told Flores through a court interpreter that he is absolutely not to have any contact with the victim.
On Wednesday, a Memphis, Tenn. man was bound over to await the action of the Montgomery County Grand Jury after being charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance.
Herrera Gonzalez went before Judge Keith Stokes Roberts on a charge of two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Represented by Payne Horan, Gonzalez chose to waive his preliminary.
Gonzalez’s bond was reduced to $25,000 and was remanded back into the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
