The Winona Christian boys are getting primed up for the upcoming district tournament.
The Stars added another win to their list as they hammered North Delta 71-57 in their only game last week.
The Lady Stars lost 46-26 to the Lady Wave.
The Winona boys are now 14-2 on the season and will face the winner of Winston and Carroll on Thursday in an 8 p.m. semifinal contest. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Canton and Oak Hill Game on Friday at 8 p.m. in the district championship game.
The Winona girls finished as the No. 4 seed overall and will face Canton on Tuesday at 5 p.m. If they win on Tuesday, they would face top-seeded Winston on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Winona Christian boys 71, North Delta 57
The Stars overcame a slow start and pulled away in the middle two periods to take a 14-point win over the Green Wave.
North Delta led 17-15 at the end of the first period before Winona Christian outscored them 20-5 in the second period to take a 35-22 lead at the half. Winona Christian extended the lead in the second half, outscoring North Delta 19-14 in the third to lead 54-36. North Delta took the fourth period 21-17 for the final margin.
Braxton Leach led Winona Christian with 20 points and seven rebounds while Zack Bledsoe had 16 points. Austin Horne had 14 points and four rebounds while Brannon Hill had eight points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Will Irwin also had six points for the Stars.
North Delta girls 46, Winona Christian 26
The Lady Stars struggled from the field with a depleted lineup and dropped a 20-point decision to the Lady Wave.
North Delta jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the first period and then outscored Winona Christian 14-6 in the second to lad 27-11 at the half. North Delta continued to add to its lead in the second half, outscoring Winona 14-11 in the third and 5-4 in the fourth.
Allie Leach led Winona Christian with eight points while Molly Lott had seven points.
