The Carroll Academy Rebels delivered a win to new head coach Stacy Hester in their first game of the season.
The Rebels used a watchful eye as they drew 15 walks and took a 13-8 win over Deer Creek on Thursday.
Carroll is scheduled to return to play this week as they host Calhoun Academy on Tuesday and travel to Delta Academy soon Thursday.
Carroll 13, Deer Creek 8
The Rebels scored multiple runs in the last four innings and pulled away to take a five-run win over Deer Creek on Thursday.
Deer Creek led 2-1 after the first inning before Carroll tied the game at 3-3 after the third. Carroll then scored two in the fourth, five in the third and six in the fifth to take the win.
Carroll had just give hits but drew 15 walks and had four hit batters. Maddox Carpenter had a doubled and drove in two runs while Lofton Holly singled and drove in three runs. Brennan Blaylock singled, scored twice and had two RBIs. Braxton York walked three times and scored all three times. William Panni and Reid Blaylock each walked twice while Panni scored twice. Blaylock and York each had three stolen bases.
Lofton Holly got the start and allowed two runs on three walks. York pitched the next six innings and gave up six runs on seven hits and two walks while siring out six. Blaylock got the last two outs and gave up just one hit and struck out one.
