The Carroll Academy Lady Rebels tipped off their preseason action with a trio of wins last week, including one major victory.
The Lady Rebels beat Heritage Academy 45-33, then beat Hebron Christian 42-25 before beating defending Overall champion Lamar School 44-27.
Against Heritage, Carroll built a 22-15 halftime lead and outscored the Lady Patriots 15-10 in the fourth to take the win. Gracie Turner led Carroll with 14 points and eight rebounds while Dru Chamblee had 11 points. Mary Jordan Milton had six points and four rebounds.
Against Hebron the Lady Rebels used a big first half to beat the Lady Eagles by 17. Carroll led 11-4 at the end of the first and outscored Hebron 14-2 in the second to lead 25-6 at the half. Dru Chamblee led Carroll with 18 points and five steals while Gracie Turner and Meri Brynn Reeves each had nine points apiece. Lainey Claire Dunn led the Lady Rebels with 12 rebounds while Turner pulled down nine rebounds.
Against Lamar, the Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Raiders in every period to take the win. Carrol led 10-6 at the end of the firs and 17-8 at the half. Carroll continued to pull away as they outscored Lamar 12-10 in the third and 15-9 in the fourth. Gracie Turner and 12 points and eight rebounds while Kaitlyn Chamblee had 10 points. Mary Lakyn Boutwell had seven rebounds and three steals. Dru Chamblee led the Lady Rebels with nine rebounds while Mary Jordan Milton and Lainey Claire Dunn each had six.
The Lady Rebels are scheduled to open regular season play on Monday, Nov. 4 as they travel to Washington and will host Starkville on Tuesday, Nov. 5 before finishing out the week on Thursday at Kirk.
