WHS tennis team concludes season

The Winona High School tennis season came to an end last Thursday at the district tournament held at East Webster High School.

The Tigers did not have a player advance to the state tournament.

Lady Tigers split Region 3-3A games

The Winona High School girls fast-pitch softball team went 1-1 in two Region 3-3A contests played last week.

The Lady Tigers (5-9 overall, 1-1 in region) knocked off visiting Ruleville 17-2 last Thursday. They scored eight runs in the first and nine in the second. Ruleville tallied a run each in the second and third innings.

Nash and Eden selected for NEMFCA All-Star Game

Winona High School seniors Zaishun Nash and Troylando Eden have been selected to showcase their talents in the Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association (NEMFCA) All-Star game. The highly anticipated matchup will take place on May 14 at Tupelo High School.

Rebels take series win

The Carroll Academy baseball team took two out of three games from Oak Hill last week to begin district play.

The Rebels won Game 1 of the series 14-2 before falling 11-1 in Game 2. In the rubber match, the Rebels rallied to take a 9-7 win over the Raiders to take the series win.
