Winona basketball teams tip off season

The Winona High School girls and boys basketball teams started their season Tuesday against Independence High School and are scheduled to visit Ethel High School Thursday.

The Lady Tigers are under the direction of first-year coach Alainey Hughes. The boys will be led by second-year coach Woodie Howard.

Jags open playoffs at Kemper County

The Jaguars wrapped up third place in Region 3-2A with a hard-fought 10-6 victory at Leland High School last Thursday night in Leland.
