Lady Stars begin hoops season with pair of games

The Winona Christian Lady Stars opened with the season with a pair of close contests last week.
The Lady Stars split a pair of games at the Indianola Tournament, beating Washington 40-30 and dropping a 39-35 decision to Manchester Academy.

Tigers cage the Panthers

With the Region 3-3A title in hand, Winona High School’s football team looks to complete its mission Thursday night as the Tigers take on Ruleville in their regular season finale.
Winona is 8-1 overall and 3-0 in district play following last Friday’s 42-20 win over Amanda Elzy in Greenwood.

Durham finishes 19th in meet

Noah Durham once again had the top finish for the Winona High School cross-country team as he placed 19th overall at the French Camp Classic last Saturday on the campus of French Camp Academy.
Durham finished the 5000-meter event with a time of 19:54. Teammates Aidan Windham came in 26th in 20:14, and Thomas Rosamond was 28th in 20:16.

Rebs win big over Winston

Carroll Academy coach Bo Milton has been at several different schools in his coaching career.
But Friday night was a first for the veteran coach.
The Rebels used a balanced offense as they beat Winston Academy 30-14, giving Milton his first win over one of his former schools.
