Stars took two from St. Joe in three-game series

The runs were plentiful for Winona Christian this past week but the Stars only managed to take two of three games from Greenville St. Joseph.
The Stars opened up the three-game series with a 7-2 win on Tuesday and then finished off the doubleheader with a 15-14 walk-off win. Greenville managed to get game three, winning 14-13 on Friday.

Rebels lose two in district

It was a rough week for the Carroll Academy baseball team as they dropped a pair of district games to Indianola Academy.
The Rebels led late in both games but fell 5-3 in game one of the series and then 6-3 in game two.
The two teams weren’t able to play game three of the series.

Tigers/Lady Tigers take first place at region meet

Winona High School hosted the Region 3-3A meet last Thursday and both the girls and boys ran away with first-place honors.
The Lady Tigers had 154 team points, easily outdistancing second-place Humphreys County, which had 96 points. Elzy was third with 55, and Ruleville fourth with 12 points.
