Rebels ends season in second round

Much like the first time they played, Greenville St. Joseph used big play after big play against the Rebels.
The Irish scored on their first seven possessions, scoring five plays of 50 or more yards to take a 48-0 win over the Rebels in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Carroll finishes the season with a 6-6 record.

Jags go to second round after 28-26 upset

J.Z. George will get a second shot at Eupora High School as the Jaguars take on the Eagles Friday at 7 p.m. in the second round of the North 2A playoffs.
The Jags earned their spot with a hard-fought 28-26 win over Coahoma County last week in the first round. J.Z. George rallied from a 20-6 halftime deficit to defeat the Red Panthers.

Carroll kicks off season

After struggling in the Indianola Pre-season Tournament last week, the Carroll Academy Lady Rebels got the regular season kicked off this week.
The Lady Rebels dropped their opener 36-16 to Oak Hill last week.
Despite the loss, head coach Jeff Dalton said he was encouraged by the improvement in just one week.

Stars fall to Centreville

Winona Christian saw its football season come to an end last week.
The Stars again struggled on defense as they gave up a season-high in points and dropped a 52-26 to Centrevile on Friday night in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Winona Christian finishes the season with a 4-7 record.
