Regina Wehowsky Trotter, 86, of Black Hawk, Miss., died Monday, June 13, 2022, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by family. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Carroll County. Bro. Wilton Neal officiated.
Mrs. Trotter was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Berlin, Germany to George and Gertrude Wehowsky. She was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing dominos. She was a seamstress and an owner of Trotter’s Grocery in Black Hawk. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kurt Wehowsky; son, Roy Trotter; and grandson, Max Ellis Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Counts and husband Don of Black Hawk, Miss., and Becky Norred and husband Billy of Burnet, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gregg, Brayden Counts, Daniel Counts, Charity Allen, Carolyn Crawford, Crystal Corbell and Johnathan Norred; and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Brayden Counts, Daniel Counts, Ty Gregg, Miller Beard, Colby Trotter, and Mark Gilmer. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Norred, the employees of Adoration Home Health and Hospice, and the employees of Greenwood Leflore Hospital ER.
