Mrs. Leona Bell Meeks, 91, of Winona died at her home on Wednesday, April 17
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 19 at Oliver Funeral Home and continued from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Winona Church of God, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Saxton Odom officiated the services.
Mrs. Meeks was born to John Henry and Fannie Mae Livingston Ledford on December 27, 1927. She was a retired manufacturing company employee and a member of the Winona Church of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Meeks; three sons, Jerone Lindley, Jamie Lindley, and Wayne Lindley; and her parents.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by her daughter, Shirley L. Smith (Chester) of Winona; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her church family at Winona Church of God. Pallbearers were Ricky Smith, Stacy Smith, Jeff Lindley, Logan Lindley, Corey Lindley, Bryan Holmes, and Cameron Lindley.
