Funeral services for Mary Lynn "Linnie" Brown, of Winona, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at First Baptist Church of Winona, with the Rev. Jay Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Scotland Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Taggart Brooks, Mike Woods, Shawn Browning, Baker Avant, Danny Woods, and Terry Woods. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Browning, Colon Woods, Cole Pratt, Terry Dees, Kirby Dees, Scott Taylor, and Spence Ramage.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 6, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home and Sunday, July 7, from 2 p.m. until service time at First Baptist Church of Winona.
Mary Lynn " Linnie" Brown, 74, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was born in Winona to Tommie and Mary King Box on February 28, 1950. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Winona, where she served in the homebound ministry, social committee, benevolence committee, Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry, grocery packing team at Mission Hope, Wednesday night meal team, Women on Mission, LLL Club and was a member of the choir.
She is survived by her daughters, Karla Brooks (Michael) of McCarley, and Nicole Yeatman (Eric) of Stewart; her sisters, Betty Jean Woods (Colon) of Duck Hill, Sue Thompson of Winona, Faye Box of Winona, and Shirley Browning (Jimmy) of Winona; three grandchildren, Mary Grace Brooks, Olivia Brooks, and Taggart Brooks; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
