Lavaughn Woods Mitchell, 91, of Greenwood died Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Jackson.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Tallahatchie County. Rev. Eddie Carpenter officiated the services.
He was born March 4, 1929. He was in the Air Force and was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia White of Dresdan, Tenn.,; brothers, Clifton Mitchell and wife Margene of Orange, Texas, and Abner Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tenn.,; and several nieces and nephews.
