James Edward Lindsey, 77, of Winona died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Friday, February 21.
Visitation was Monday, February 24, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Saxton Odom and Rev. John Lumbley officiated the services.
Rev. Lindsey was born on July 24, 1942, and was the son of the late Luther Edward and Willie Ray Rigby Lindsey. He was a retired former employee of Screw Conveyor Corporation in Winona, the Winona Fire Department, and Delta Electric Power Association. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard in 1962 and 1963, and was a member of Williams Springs Church of God near Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Brown Lindsey; son, James Edward Lindsey Jr., and three brothers.
Rev. Lindsey is survived by his daughters, Judy Wingo of Winona and Cindy Pyron (Randy) of Duck Hill; stepdaughter, Debra Brown of Kilmichael; sisters, Ima Dees of Clarksville, Tenn., and Betty Garrett of Cedartown, Ga.; brothers, Donald Ray Lindsey of Raymond and Billy Joe Lindsey of Sidon; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Shannon Dunn, Hunter Dunn, Wesley Edwards, Devin Wingo, Randall Pyron, and James Johnson.
