Mr. James D. Allen, 69, of Kilmichael passed away at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson on Tuesday, March 3.
Mr. Allen was born in Sledge, Mississippi, on December 28,1950. He was a retired businessman who worked in auto body repair. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Gene Allen; brother, Roger Allen; and an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Sidney Allen.
Mr. Allen is survived by his son, T. J. Allen (Heather) of Indianola; two grandchildren, Ella Marie Allen and Gabriella Breland Smith of Indianola; and two nephews, Chris and Jason Allen of Kilmichael.
A memorial service for Mr. Allen will be held at a later date. Lee Funeral Home in Winona (www.ofhwinona.com) is handling arrangements.
